The Challenger Skyler Jackson Chamberland met the reigning Overlord Damien Mortis in the Annex on June 29, 2006 as he exercised his intercession free right to challenge him won as first prize in the Spring Warlord Tournament.
Damien dueled under the flag of Polaris without a second and without a Lady of Honor this night. Skyler dueled under the color black with Wyheree as his second and without a Lady of Honor tonight. Surprising or not so surprisingly Damien declared to have a hot date and choose one duel only to decide this matter.
I had the honor of officiating for these two excellent duelists.
Things started off on the right foot when Skyler drew first blood in round one and I was happy folks! Then things got really nasty when he nailed Damien again right off the bat. I thought sure the Overlord was in big trouble as he was running around just waving Plague like a madman in that there ring.
But suddenly the entire RED Coalition arrived including Baron Baph. I am talking about the entire five of them all were there tonight standing in a certain such a way as to make it clear they were making a statement folks. Well the rest of the fans like Baron Rena, Cory, Var, Mikael, Dimitri, Harris and all they wasn't acting nothing like them there RED folks was.
Anyhow back to this here duel. Damien I guess he done had enough of that getting stabbed stuff because he turned around and waylaid Skyler right above his defense big time! Then they really put on a show. Damien did some fancy getting out of the way that saved his hide in the nick of time and tied up the score!
I was so happy at what happened next and Imp, who was also there for this here challenge match cheering for me, not them of course since I am one of his womens I guess but I am not sure but anyhow Imp was there, and we both were
right excited as they went high and low and blood was shed by both at the same time!!
Well then Skyler got tripped up which put Damien back in the lead for a bit. And that does remind me that Baron E (silent), Sartan, Josh, and Aerynn was there too watching as they continued to duel their hearts out in that there ring!
Harris was talking something about fate and I had mentioned to Cory that I had done heard he had been betting again and there was a hairy tick that Imp found (which turned out to be the Overlord or on him I'm still not sure to tell you the truth) when I glanced back to the ring where they was supposed to be fighting and saw them two was both squatted down real low and that was all!
They got back up though and Skyler showed off his footwork again and I had to give him credit cause it was right pretty and even though Damien's sword twirling was really pretty too I just had to admit that the challenger was in a much better position for the next round. So that is how they ended up tied all up at four a piece again in the eighth round of a one duel Overlord Challenge match that I was officiating folks!
The suspense was killing me and I think it was everyone else that had managed to make it to watch. We did actually start on time and everything too. So there weren't that many people but those that were there had their favorites that is for sure. They was cheering but not as loud as me and Imp were for our BLOOD!!
Then it happened folks! You ain't gonna believe it! What did happen you might be asking yourself. I know I sure was when it did happen. Xeno walked in as though he was expecting to see a duel. Well he got to see Damien stabbing Skyler right in the gut to keep his mantle of Overlord of the Duel of Swords!!
Skyler fought well and honorably and did a fantastic job of keeping up with Damien through this here whole duel and can be proud of the job he did tonight!!!
Rena Challenges The Baron Dragon Tass!

There weren't many spectators for this match just a few fans like Cory, Dimitri, and Anubis, myself and my husband were there of course, on this evening of June 26, 2006 in the Arena where the illustrious P'Imp himself was calling for the Baron of Old Temple ring holder to be decided.
Tasselhofl Momus the defending Baron dueled under no colors with no second but his Lady of Honor, Kyndra MacDraven was at ringside cheering him on to glory. Rena A. Cronin dueled under the colors of Atrebla and her second Josh didn't arrive until later on in these matches as the current Baron Tass chose a best 2 of 3 format.
The first was quickly decided in his favor. The second was longer and the challenger, Rena took it for the win. The third I'm here to tell you was a definite nail biter folks! The suspense was a killer as it started out with Tass having a decent lead but all too soon in a scant two rounds Rena closed it to even things up at 4 All folks!
If that wasn't enough they then proceeded to keep us on the edges of our seats when they both attacked but meet only each others staffs then with a bit of defense by each of them that gained them nothing. But gained those of us watching and cheering them on more pretzels tossed at us by Cory from just across the way!
Anubis I might mention had somehow become ill during the match and left at the thought of Skyler possibly becoming Overlord this coming Thursday after his challenge match with Damien and him being in no position to immediately take action to remove him.
There was a slight amount of trouble among the fans at this challenge match but nothing that couldn't be handled by the tiny blue terror himself, who I might
add was one of the main the instigators in the first place, since I am reporting the whole truth here.
One of the fans, who prefers to remain nameless, made a running tackle of Cory taking him to the floor in a heap of bodies that thankfully resulted in only bruises for them each. This slight altercation between the two fans caused them both to miss the final score of the first duel.
There is some speculation that the altercation began when the duels proved to be bloodless due to both duelist using blunt objects known as staffs rather than sharp edged weapons such as swords which were expected giving the fans no blood to enjoy inside the rings and therefore they began seeking their own outside.
The official for the evening was heard to be muttering about the fact there would be no blood and my own battle cry for BLOOD GUTS and GLORY was futile in this particular challenge.
However back to this well-fought and hard-earned battle of Rena and Tass' for the Barony of Old Temple!! They are in their third duel tied up at 4 All and have been for two rounds now when suddenly there is an opening in one of their defenses and the other one spots it and BAM!! They take it and just that fast faithful readers we have a NEW BARON OF OLD TEMPLE.
Rena A Cronin is now a Baron in the Duel of Swords.
Tass snarled and struck Rena's second with his staff after the final round perhaps because Josh as soon as the final round was called shone a flashlight in the dragon's eyes! The dragon stormed from the Arena without even giving Rena the ring for Old Temple after delivering that blow to her second.
Rena has declared her current alignment as RenaGade as her second put it.

Mega Beach Bash Goblin Tourney

On June 6, 2006 Twilight Isle was lit up with tiki torches and a feast was laid out along with fancy drinks as an awesome beach party and, open to all, Duel of Magic tournament was held there for everybody that could come.
Myself and Rab Mallet were honored to be commentators for this here special evening of non-stop flying mage bolts, foul fogs, reflecting shields, and putting the fear of Gods and Goddesses themselves into each others minds!!
It was obvious from the very start that there was gang warfare going on as immediately the lines in that there ring was drawn and they nailed poor Artemus and he was eliminated POOF! The winner had barely a scratch on her when all was said and done, Kelathe and a newcomer to the Isle took second place, by the name of Rokin.
Everyone dueled their hearts out in that ring and put on a grand show and gave it their best efforts. I was happy to see them all in their just casting spell after spell although they was getting hit left and
right all around! I don't know how he did it but Brigath did an excellent job keeping it all sorted out of who was hitting who how and when and my hat is off to him.

FireStar Opal Challenge!

On June 13th 2006 Duel of Fists Emerald ranked, Mur Sullivan challenged the creature known as Jigglypuff for the Opal, Firestar. In a best 2 of 3 duel format to see who would hold this powerful gem Mur dominated the first match. Jiggly however is no slouch and came back strong in the second forcing this challenge to go a full three duels!
In the last duel the marshmallow like Jiggly, that is kept by the curators at the RhyDin library, fought hard to keep that Opal but Mur was on a roll it seemed and kept control of the fight through their entire match to earn the right to call FireStar his. At least until the next Emerald decides to pin a note on the cork board that feels lucky.
