Double Challenge in Sword and Fists Simultaneously!

By TERA STARFARE

Rakeesh the Hero

On June 20, 2006 an event happened in the esteemed, newly completely re-furnished, Annex that I am not certain has ever happened before faithful readers. I have not gone back through the record books and so it may have in the distant past so please do not quote me on this. But nevertheless it was GRAND! It was GLORIOUS! It was SPECTACULAR!

The Warlord Cassius Maxium pressed a DOUBLE challenge upon the Baron of New Haven and Opal Shadoweaver holder Rakeesh the Hero for both his Barony and his Opal at the same time!!

The wonderful and quite lovely official Shard agreed to call this challenge and I have to say she did a fantastic job for the two duelists as of course this reporter had to be there to get all the details for our Oracle readers first hand.

Cass, Rakeesh, and Shard agreed both would be best 2 of 3 and they would alternate between sports beginning with Swords then Fists then Swords until both challenges had been settled.

Now something of note here that I heard Cass point out that hadn't occurred to me that was quite interesting I thought was this is one of the only times you would find someone fist fighting in a warded ring. That's right. No one fist fights in a warded ring. You take your blows and get your bruises and are proud of 'em in the Duel of Fists!!

However I am quite certain that both Rakeesh and Cass were thankful for that

warded ring during this grueling double challenge as they battled like warriors of old big time!

The first match was a sword fight and Cass won it, then they switched to fists and Rakeesh beat Cass up. It was back to swords and Cass dominated to win the Barony of New Haven AND the 9,500 silver bounty that Damien and Baph had placed on the Liontaur's head!

Cass has declared his alignment to be Renegade. Also he is going to go after the Overlord mantle from what I think I heard on my way out the door but first there was more fighting going on because they had not yet settled the Duel of Fists part of this double challenge.

Once again Rakeesh proved to be the victor in the fist fighting so he kept that evil black Opal Shadoweaver which did without doubt assist him to his victory. I did hear Rakeesh say that this Opal has not turned him wicked or evil in any way and he has held it for some time now. However it did turn his eyes black and it did turn HIM into a shadowy form that was nothing but an illusion.

After both challenges were over the two agreed that their ill feelings toward each other had been settled and they would both let bygones be bygones. The past is now officially the past between these two awesome duelists.

Now faithful readers you and I all have experience here in town of eyes going black and blackness creeping over people and other creatures then turning into shadowy forms and passing through us and hitting us and beating on us in that form. I ask you and please do leave me a note at my office with your opinions or even better you can write a letter to the Editor for next month's issue of the Oracle on this subject with your opinion. Is this not the sign of something evil!?

Brigath Challenged by Vanion For The Tower of Air!

By TERA STARFARE

Much was on the line when Brigath met Vanion on the Isle on the evening of June 15, 2006 in the challenge match for his Tower of Air. My sources tell me that Vanion may be attempting some kind of take over but they refuse to let me name them nor would they give me specific details yet but I am still digging deeper into this aspect of the story.

His attempt to take this Tower however, although it was hard fought, was defeated by the current Keeper Brigath. Brigath did have a major fight on his hands though it was proven throughout both the duels it took for him to keep his keys. This adds another page to the Duel of Magic record books in Brig's name it should be noted.

Farek Challenged by Vincent For The Tower of Water!

By TERA STARFARE

On June 15, 2006 the lovely Topaz herself officiated the challenge match between the challenger Vinny and the Keeper of the Tower of Water, Farek. This was the second date set for this challenge as Farek failed to appear at the first scheduled meeting. No one is quite certain why the brigand did not appear but speculation is rampant.

In this challenge Farek was taking no prisoners so to speak as he dominated both duels over the challenger in a very no nonsense manner to end this challenge quite quickly. Vinny's stated reason for challenging was that Farek had been complaining that no one ever challenges him.

In that spirit it is this reporter's opinion that everyone should challenge Farek now. I am just sure that he will appreciate having the action.

Anubis Challenged for Pathfinder by Harris!

By TERA STARFARE
May 23, 2006

This here fight was GRAND! It was GLORIOUS! It was BLOODY! It was... Well, I am just sorry that all of you folks weren't there to get to see it for yourselves.

The Opal Pathfinder was on the line as Anubis the current holder squared off against the challenger Harris. But they wasn't in no ring faithful readers. Oh no not these here two brawlers.

And to top it all off apparently there had been some threats made against Anubis and a priest and four creepy looking bodyguards arrived before he entered the Outback to ensure there was no foul play by outsiders. That Priest made a speech before the actual fighting commenced something about Gods were going to get involved if anyone messed with the Egyptian. That would be Anubis in case you aren't sure.

Anyway these here two went at it tooth and nail fighting like there was no tomorrow. They busted up tables, chairs, the bar, and even fought their way through the crowd that had gathered to watch this here challenge!

Fists and feet were flying at each other along with pieces of the tables and chairs they had broken up. Harris was having a very good night though and in two fights he took that Opal Pathfinder from Anubis. Now we were all expecting more fireworks after that happened than had happened during the fights themselves. It did not come to pass though as with great honor and dignity Anubis handed Harris the prize.

I am not sure if we have seen the last of these two's confrontations over Opals though faithful readers as Anubis from what I understand is not long without one. Which one he will go after next if indeed he does is anyone's guess however. For now Harris is indeed the man of the hour!

Overlord Challenged by the Baron of Battlefield Park!

By TERA STARFARE

On June 1st of 2006 Overlord Damien Mortis defended his mantle of Overlord of the Duel of Swords against the challenger Baron E(Silent) of Battlefield Park. Damien dueled under the colors of Polaris and the WarDrac Baphelocutis est Lathadoscia was his second and Cassius Maximus was named his lady of honor strangely enough but with Damien one can never be certain just what shall happen next!

The honorable and worthy opponent Baron E(Silent) dueled with the lovely Warlady Aya Hayashibara as his second.

The wonderful and fantastic Shard officiated for this gala event which was quite fitting as she had also officiated the duel that had gained Damien the mantle of Overlord in the first place and had been hoping to be able to have the honor of calling this, the first challenge to his reign.

It seemed that the fates were against Baron E(Silent) this night as in this best 2 of 3 format chosen he was able to score only 1 point per duel against the current Overlord in two straight duels.

One thing that I would like to take a quick moment and point out though is this challenge was a promise that Baron E(Silent) had made and did uphold even though fate was against him this particular night this man fought with honor and bravery in that ring and kept his promise faithful readers.
