The two un-alive vampires, Count Talomar and Countess Tara Longden, are not dead as previously presumed from the half-mile diameter crater that now marks the spot where the Longden Castle once stood. In a freakish occurrence of good fortune (i.e. luck), the Longdens (Talomar, Tara and Marius) were residing outside of their castle on the morning of the destruction. Upon hearing of the destruction of their home, all their belongings, and their staff; the Longdens had remained out of sight except for an unusual shopping spree by Mrs. Longden that depleted RhyDin's supply of diapers and other baby paraphernalia.
This reporter caught up with Count Longden and asked him if he had any knowledge of who might have destroyed his castle and what might have been the motive. The Count looked impatient when he answered, "Well, it sure as hell wasn't because they didn't care for my prize roses. They obviously wanted me and my wife and son dead. They blew it and they will pay - dearly." When asked about where they would live and what they would do now, he replied, "We have purchased a new castle on the cliffs that

According to Detectives they have in their possession a velvet choker with the initials LR in silver on it, a large thigh length leather boot, as well as a sword with blood and odd markings on it that they can't decipher. All three of these items were found in the back alley beside the Red Dragon Inn after it was reported there were screams and a female voice pleading for her life.
The report states copious amounts of blood was found at the scene along with hair and skin indicating perhaps someone had been bludgeoned as well as maybe sliced and diced. So far no body has been located in relation to this case. Also no witnesses have come forward to what may be a homicide right outside the Red Dragon Inn.
If you believe these items could belong to your missing loved one please go to the RhyDin police station to pick them up and let them know. If you locate a body please contact the Back Alley Morgue and Funeral Services as their attendants are standing by expecting a delivery after having been to the scene of this crime.

A series of previously thought of random house breakings apparently aren't as random as the RhyDin Guard previously reported. Several homes across the city have been broken into, with only two items stolen from each residence. Not cash, not jewels or magical weapons. The two items lifted from the premises are a pot of the lady's cosmetics and a pair of the gentleman's socks.
"Seems some odd things to be stealin'." the Sergeant of to Guard commented. "Wonder what someone would want such things for?"
Though even the homeowners admit the thefts are nothing more than a nuisance, they too wonder what could be wanted with the items. A gathering of the victims at the Guard's headquarters brought the same questions. What could be wanted with such common items? Who was invading their privacy? And just what was the Guard going to do about tracking the thief down?
During the meeting, the Captain of the Guard mentioned that they intended to double the patrols walking the streets. He also stated he did not feel anyone would be in danger from the thieves. He also intimated that perhaps the thief was in fact a pair of thieves and perhaps homeless.

Viki ChyldeA late night in the infamous Red Dragon Inn turned violent. A well known patron, Viki Chylde was seen by reliable sources in some sort of conversation with a mysterious cloaked figure. The conversation seemed to much amuse Viki for a while. The mystery creature had three, count them, three tongues. This stranger than fiction fact came out when the creature in question flickered them out. Reports have it that the tongues were not forked, but three from a single being, even in RhyDin, is considered enough of an oddity to be noted. Even Viki, a Seer who has no doubt seen many oddities, seemed a little shocked at the sight.
Witnesses at the scene reported that it seemed as though the being was threatening Viki in some manner. In response to the mention of being a grave robber, the cowled creature spoke of "creating fresh specimens of those so near". At that time, tendrils of what seemed to be pure darkness began reaching towards Viki. Viki, though appearing frightened, kept her composure enough to indicate that she did indeed recognize the being. And returned a threat of her own. At this point, our sources report, a plethora of smoke beings came into shape, bringing all the horrors one might imagine to life. Viki was not slow to respond. The smell of brimstone became more and more noticeable around them. During the course of the conversation that seemed half menace, half friendly exchange, the being introduced himself as Lord Veighn Yhaull.
|
In the midst of this conversation, which seemed to grow more menacing by the word, Lord Yhaull seemed to cast a spell and darkness coalesced around him, swelling into a great ball of pure darkness. Prior to this, Viki had begun glowing brightly herself. They resembled nothing more than a small star in the vastness of the darkest midnight sky. An exchange of energy flowed between them for some time, bringing about concern from several Inn patrons. The patrons, unsure of just what fell magics were being unleashed, could only watch in worry and wonder.
Suddenly Viki fell back behind the bar with a thump and a clash of falling bottles. This seemed to greatly amuse Lord Yhaull. A friend and Family member of Viki's, Tasha Oberon, came to her aid, offering assistance. Suddenly Viki was flailing about, grabbed Tasha's blaster and opened fire on Lord Yhaull. Lord Yhaull was hit in both a dark disk held in his hand, which seemed to do no harm, as well as in the shoulder, almost unseating him from his bar stool. There appeared to be no obvious wound from the shot. With Viki hiding away safely, Tasha tried to effect a truce. Lord Yhuall's response at first was to threaten to permanently affix the weapon to the hand that held it. With further vicious exchanges of words, the scene eventually faded to each going their own way with their evening's amusements.

"When you need more than skin, Hellballs Leather Goods. After all, it's your hide you are protecting."

Some people are obsessed with getting in the last word. Your Oracle photographer was shocked during a recent visit to the cemetery. The extent that some people will go in order to get the last word in any arguments is sometimes bewildering. This is the gravestone a recent loser of an argument in the Inn. He may have lost the argument, but he still got the last word. - Gavilean

The night of the Ascension Moon was a busy one faithful readers as yet another story has come to light from the police records of a dastardly deed committed by persons so far unknown to the RhyDin Detectives who are hot on their trail.
The First Goblin Bank was robbed of every copper, silver, a CD they had while the festival was going on and the good God (and Vampire like creature) fearing people were holed up safe and snug in their homes.
Not only was the Bank robbed but it was vandalized something fierce as the president of the Bank reported it could take weeks to repair the building if not months with the recent rash of vandalism occurring in the various districts in town.
The only clues left were a crimson moon and dagger that was gleaming on the door and a single silver propping open the vault door. Thus far forensics have been unable to determine anything from the site about the suspects in this heinous crime so if you by any chance were out on the street the night of the festival and happened to see anything please stop by The Oracle office building.
