Double Shooting at Taneth Mercer's Masquerade!

By TERA STARFARE
September 12, 2006

The Great Hall was beautifully decorated in ice sculptures done by the exquisite Lady Wyheree and was deliciously catered by O'Dell's Deli for the lovely Taneth Mercer this evening. When Gavilean and I stopped by to enjoy the food and dancing the huge Hall was crowed with partying guests.

Everyone in town I do believe at some time or another this evening stopped by to share a drink or conversation in their costumes. It was a glittering and lavish affair which in this reporter's opinion RhyDin could use more of in the future. I saw a bit of everything from cowboys to kilts to wenches to slaves to Queens to Imps to body paint there was something for everyone to be seen!

But it is what happened after many of the guests had departed that is the real story here faithful readers and it saddens me to have to report it for it is horrifying that good law abiding citizens can't seem to enjoy themselves without apparent evildoers out and about in our streets every single day and night!

Yes, even that night there was TROUBLE at the masquerade ball. Now Lady Wyheree and I have investigated this to get these facts for you. Granted we are having to rely a bit on rumor and speculation but we are fairly certain of our facts on this.

There are several versions of these two separate events as apparently a gun-toting, verbally abusive, personage attempted to assassinate two

Oracle reporters as they were attending the Ball in their guise as reporters for this very paper!

One being that a huge Knight dressed in full battle armor with an axe to grind against Mr. Brian Ravenlock for an imagined slight in the past came to the Great Hall looking to shoot him in the back without even giving him a chance to defend himself.

Another version I have heard says it was a woman that was madly in love with the Eldest Ravenlock but she was an old hag with twenty children, all by different fathers, let me add here that none of the children are Brian's, and she has a huge wart on the end of her nose.

Yet a third told me that the famed Bounty Hunter escaped the assassin's bullet to run out of the Hall and shoot the evil intentioned, hardened criminal, right between the eyes himself then he dragged the body into the bushes hiding it from the authorities and came back later to dispose of it before it could be found and remarked upon by anyone.

In the second instance things are not as clear cut when it comes to the facts of the matter. This gun-toting, verbally abusive, personage apparently had help when they went after the second Oracle reporter, Tyranacus.

Our very own Lady Wyheree was forced at gun point to aid and abet this hardened criminal in their evil plot. She was in fear of her very life faithful readers! But she never got a really good look at the face of the personage that threatened all she held dear in this life and the next if she did not help them by distracting the dragon Tyranacus with his well known weakness for sparkly things.

Of course she did as she was ordered to, and the wicked fiend took aim. Ty's mother was there, though, and took the brunt of the vicious attack that was meant for her son! ICER WAS SHOT!!! It didn't take long before the last of the Ice Dragons slumped over onto the floor at Lady Wyheree's feet sound asleep. She had been tranquilized.

Now it has been rumored that this gun-toting, verbally abusive personage, looked, talked, and walked a lot like me faithful readers. Apparently she even used my battle cry of BLOOD GUTS GLORY!!! However I am quite certain that if you were to ask my beloved husband, Gavilean, he would assure you that I was at home in bed sound asleep at the time of these horrific, very newsworthy, attacks with him.

A Monster in RhyDin?

By LADY WYHEREE

On September 6th, The Oracle received a letter detailing the appearance of a strange sea creature two days prior about 300 miles off of the coast. I was concerned that this beast may disturb the usual shipping lanes, so I went to the Docks - letter and photo in hand - and asked several of the captains if they had seen such a creature. To my surprise, I discovered that no one else had seen this beast, nor had heard of the vessel (Lucky Dragon #5) or Captain (A. Byss) referenced in the letter. A quick phase over to Sea Wolf confirmed my earlier suspicions - the ship and captain were not known to any of the local seafarers.

Which is more dangerous - a huge monster lurking in the depths of the of the sea, or a phantom ship and a faceless Captain? Information about the sea creature or about the Lucky Dragon #5 may be left at The Oracle office at my desk.

A Kangaroo Adopted
By a Dragon!?

By TYRANACUS

The odd dragon named Tyranacus, usually called Ty, indeed is a dad, his mate Ichia has laid their eggs and Ty is very happy. But something new happened in the inn on Thursday, September 14th, he adopted a kangaroo, who was about to be attacked and maimed by some of the patrons of the inn that night.

The little "'roo" as Ty calls him, is very young and smart, and Ty will not take too kindly to anyone who comes close to even looking like they'll hurt him, as any dragon parent would.

Although he's just a kangaroo so his intelligence is only as great as a young 'roo's IQ goes. He has named the 'roo Joey, since that's what everyone kept calling him.

Baby Found

By GAVILEAN STARFARE

A face only a mother could love? Perhaps this baby pushed the boundaries of the age old saying. This lovely child was found abandoned upon the porch of the Red Dragon Inn. Would anyone like to claim this precious bundle of joy? He (or she) is currently being cared for at the RhyDin Orphanage.

Lawyer - Gutted, Burnt, Decapitated Revisited!

By TERA STARFARE
September 5, 2006

We all know that not everything is as it seems in RhyDin and so it has been proved to me when I had the good fortune to have a visitor at The Oracle office building on the afternoon of September 5th. Now this was no ordinary visitor and I do hope to have the good fortune of meeting up with them again as they have promised me a full interview with them that I intend to print right here in this very paper for next month's issue so be sure and get your copy first thing folks.

But on to just who my visitor was and how they came to be visiting me on this grand and glorious day. They introduced themselves as none other than Mr. Howe from the Law Firm of Dewey, Cheetham, and Howe. Yes, you read that right. The Lawyer that I had reported as being dead last month. Apparently they had bought a spell from that Mad Madam Mim's store over by The Marketplace and what was attacked that night in the Inn was an illusion not his real person according to my visitor.

As of this printing this is all I really know but as I said I am going to meet with them again and will have more news next month on this still developing story!
