I was unable to attend this Challenge folks so I'm bringing it straight from the corkboard in The Arena to you.
For the first time in well over a year, I, Manius Cicero, took time out from the life of a gentleman of leisure to officiate a challenge which took place beyond the boundaries of my contract. But this was an honor, not a burden. Besides, watching others bleed and leisure are by no means mutually exclusive.
The Baron of the Eleventh/Old Market District, Baphelocutis est Lathodascia, received and accepted challenge from the finalist of the recent Warlord's Tournament, Artemus Kurgen.
Kurgen stood with the Overlord, Johnathan Ecorian Havoick, as his Second, in place of Gavilean Rex. A woman named Lady Helston stood as the anima who personified his honor. The Baron chose no one to second him in case of disaster, and no woman to stand for his honor. I found this fortunate, as he is a magnificent but immense creature, and I am not certain the foundations of the Arena could have withstood both the Baron and a female counterpart. The Warlord wielded a staff of ashwood; the Baron wielded his dreaded pole arm, the SoB.
The action was held in one duel, but that one duel held the action and drama of an entire tournament. The Baron struck first with a direct attack by the SoB. It would have been a display of fortitude to merely continue after being impaled by that horrendous weapon, but the druid rallied as well. A deft defense tied the score, another deft defense won Artemus the lead, and a follow-up direct strike won
a commanding 3-1 lead. As I openly voiced my observation that the trend of the match indicated a new Baron of the Eleventh, it appeared that the veteran Baron's formidable skills kicked in so that I may be proven wrong. The new Warlord again took a strong lead as his parry displayed the exquisite timing and skill he had learned in his time in the duels. But he had not spent the time here that the draconian has, and proved it by becoming overzealous and falling into a veteran's well-laid trap. The Baron's next direct strike proved more keenly timed, connecting underneath a swinging ashwood staff to tie the score at 4 apiece. Traded strikes would then assure that neither man would leave the ring having been humiliated. Given the reach of the weaponry involved, an abundance of thrusts was not surprising. And given the natural abundance of thrusts, it was equally not surprising that in the late 12th round, at 5 all, both men were wary of it.
However, here came the pivot on which the duel swung. The Warlord braced; the Baron sidestepped. It was late in a grueling duel, and the relatively inexperienced Warlord could not recover and defend with a sufficient enough flourish to secure the ring in the next round. The Baron thrusted, knowing he could not lose the 11th in that round. The Warlord, however, could muster enough defense to keep the duel alive and edge it in his favor but he didn't. A high attack proved to be a horrendous mistake, and the SoB struck as cleanly as it had in the opening round.
Baphelocutis est Lathodascia remains the Baron of the 11th/Old Market District, and remains Renegade to the Overlord. An excellent job was done by all.

Old Market Barony Challenge Results!
By TERA STARFARE October 29, 2006
I didn't make it to this Challenge so I am bringing it to you just as Imp, who was the official for it, posted it in The Arena on the board folks!
HEAR YE! HEAR YE! HEAR YE!!
I wuz thurr!!!!
You heard it! I was there to call the challenge for Old Market! You see? Cory gave this grant thing to Anjolie, Anjolie took out her poke-ball and said "I choose you Bapheloc!" Bapheloc said "Baph! Baaaphelooooc!" So they came to the Arena for the fight.
Bapheloc was secondless and ladyless. He dueled under his personal colors which are royal purple and gold with a personalized emblem emblazoned on it.
Anjolie Cynthia Havoick's second was Cassius Maxim. Her Lady of Honor was the Baroness Topaz. Her flag was that of the sunset colors of the Golden Sun Stables with the addition of Johnathan Havoick's flag of blue.
The Baron opted for a single match!
The first three rounds were in Bapheloc's favor, with him reading Anjolie like a book. On the fourth round Anjolie scored her first point! So the score was 2.5-1 in favor of Bapheloc. After three scoreless rounds, Anjolie went on to score three more points! At the end of the eleventh round the score was 4-2.5 in favor of Anjolie. The next two rounds worked for Bapheloc to tie the score to 4 all!! Round fourteen was a scoreless round. Then on the fifteenth round Bapheloc and Anjolie went for it! Bapheloc started to swing high, Anjolie saw the opportunity right there and stepped in to charge for the winning point!! After fifteen rounds, Anjolie took the win and the ring for Old Market!!!
All hail Anjolie!! Baroness of Old Market!!!
Bar Brawl In The Inn!
By LADY WYHEREE RAVENLOCK
The Red Dragon Inn welcomed the return of Duel of Fists Wednesday, October 19th with a full out bar brawl! The common area was cleared of tables and chairs, and no less than 6 rings were set up! Pslyder announced the start at 9:00pm, and within five minutes 2 matches were underway Artemus Kurgen vs. The Night Mask, and Brian Ravenlock vs. me! The action was fast and furious, and soon poor Brian was down and out! The tone of the night was set the ladies ruled the rings! The Empress defeated the current Overlord, Johnathan "Cory" Havoick, and sweet Lydia took down the mighty Ty!
So many people wished to duel at one point 5 of the 6 rings were being used at once, and Des stepped up to help Pslyder call the incredible action! The reigning Diamond, Matt Simon, made an appearance and showed us all the reason he has successfully defended his title so many times! Even those not actually partaking in the duels seemed to enjoy watching the fast and furious action. I had such fun dueling I plan to stop by the Outback and try my hand at more duels! I wish to thank Pslyder and Des for their excellent calling, and I cannot wait until January when Duel of Fists returns to the Inn!!
Overlord Challenge

HEAR YE!! HEAR YE!! HEAR YE!!!!
I was asked to be present for the Overlord Challenge and it was bloody! Bloody I tell ya!!! BLOOD! GUTS!! GORE!!!! ::cackles madly::
You see, Skyler won the Warlord tournament and got a chance to beat up on Cory. Cory said, ok. But I heard through the grapevine that someone attacked Cory just the night before his challenge, injuring his knee! The horror!! The horror!!! Conspiracy theorists will later say that it was a vile plot plotted by Skyler... but I digress... Lucky for Cory that Tasha, Sid and Erin were there to heal him.
Cory dueled under a flag with the silhouette of a stallion in front of a golden yellow background. His color was blue! My favorite!!! His Lady of Honor was the hottie Anjolie Havoick and he was secondless. He was wearing red underwear.
Skyler's Lady of Honor was hottie Jewell Ravenlock, his Second was the cool-chick Wyheree, and his color was midnight blue. His weapon was Wang and he was going commando.
The Overlord chose to fight one duel!
The first round was a bit slow, then the second round was my favorite! Double Imp-ailment!!! BLOOD MAKES THE GRASS GROW!! THRUST! THRUST! THRUST!!!
ahem
That will be the first and only point Skyler will score during the match. Because after round three, Cory opened a can of whoopass and scored the next four points to secure the win!!
Cory is still the Overlord of the Duel of Swords!!!
