The Great Hall at the Red Dragon Inn, once a place of many spectacular gatherings of the rich and famous, has been dark for quite sometime now. After last year's glorious Masquerade, Harvest Festival, and then the Golden Dragon Awards, the hall has gone largely unused for large events. Of course, this doesn't mean that small birthday parties, gatherings and conversations weren't held there over the year, but inquiring minds want to know? What happened to the galas?
They RhyDin population, an ever changing entity, seems much less interested in putting on black tie and waltzing around the hall than ever before. When asked about the effect this is having on business, florist Lucia Lightfoot said, "Well, there aren't many florists left in town, and mainly that's because our services aren't really needed. Big weddings are out, large balls are out, and so we're just there for the occasional cheating boyfriend! It's hard." And she wasn't exaggerating, her store was empty of patrons, save the occasional man that strolled in for roses.
Tomas Feldman, owner of ToFel Catering said, "There are very few events that need catered food. It's a shame,

because for awhile there, I was making good money. It looks like now I'm going to have to open a restaurant, which is less rewarding for me." Currently his catering shop is being expanded to include tables and chairs for a takeout deli.
The people of RhyDin seemed baffled and yet a little disappointed a the lack of true social events. "I used to love to read the gossip after a ball. I remember after the masque there was all sorts of crazy things that went on
and it was always fun to look for a dress for those events. There's very few places to really dress up." Said Prin Prunewihstle of Dragon's Gate. Don Rockland said something quite different, "I'm glad we don't have to deal with these obnoxious balls anymore. They were a distraction and a waste of money. Sometimes when things go out of fashion, it's a good thing."
One thing is for certain, though, the ball has been replaced by the bar brawl. Now a days it is gatherings of the DoD or the Brale Brothers that seem to prevail in the RhyDin psyche. And we here at the Oracle ask, is it more fun?*
*Editor's note: I personally believe that watching Baker and Eve talk about their upcoming wedding is in fact more interesting than every formal ball we've had here in RhyDin. But that's just me.

Due to unforseen circumstances, the Oracle's own Elly has decided to call off the Harvest Festival that was due to take place in November. In a statement she released about it, however, she makes it clear that the auctions for charity are still taking place.
The auctions end on the third of November, and the results will be announced on the fifth of November. Elly is extending her sincere apologies for the cancellation of the Festival itself, and hopes that no one will be negatively effected by it.

One race that's regarded as super pretty are elves! Even the boy elves look really pretty, and are often mistaken for girls! I really think other races can learn a lot from elves, because they're so neat and tidy and pretty and keep themselves up so well. Dwarves, you never see elves running around with super long nose hair do you? Gnomes, elves don't have super big pores and icky skin do they? Hobbits, elves don't have hairy feet do they? Watch and learn!
Of the pretty elves in RhyDin a few stand out from the rest. One of which would be Elessaria, a petite elf girl who works at the Red Dragon Inn. She's cute and sweet and classy and has so many guys that are interested in her from what I've heard and read! I can't blame them! And she was nice enough to grant me an interview, so it's not true what they say about elves! They're not all stuck up!

Elly: How does it make you feel knowing you're one of the most beautiful people in RhyDin~?
Eless: Wow, I am? It never crossed my mind; but, I'm so excited because I get to join thee and the rest of the ranks of RhyDin's beautiful people.
Elly: I've read about you in the gossip before~ But it never seems to be able to pin down the guy you have an eye on~ Do you have a special someone~?
Eless: Elly, dost thou truly think I would 'kiss & tell'? Then the gossip columns would lose some of their fodder. I can tell thee that I have recently made a connection with someone much to my delight and surprise. Talk about sparks flying! However, 'tis nay time to name him yet.
Elly: Do you think being so beautiful is a curse or a blessing~?
Eless: Both! By being beautiful, people want to spend time with thee. Sometimes people will give thee presents simply for being pretty and we elves and fae are known to absolutely adore getting gifts. On the negative side, all the attention can make one's partner jealous. In addition, many times others will not consider thee seriously.

Elly: Where do you get your clothes from~?
Eless: I buy fabrics usually during my travels and create my own designs often. Although I am strongly considering bringing some of my more recent purchases to the Stitch and to Koy's place. I am very interested in seeing what they would design. Contrary to popular opinion they are nay sleepwear. I am much too modest to dally about in public wearing my nightgowns.
Elly: There's a lot of fighting going on between the races, particularly with elves and dwarves~ Do you see all as equal, or are elves superior~? What do you think of the fighting~?
Eless: I abhor fighting! Elves and dwarves both have their strengths and weakness just like any race. I mean really, I work one of my colleagues is a dwarf and I think she is wonderful! The only time I was anti-dwarf happened in the RDI one evening, and 'twas nay because he was a dwarf; but rather a naked dwarf who makes Robert Kidd look like a paragon of etiquette! I think there is a proper time and place for nudity; however, not in the Inn especially with all the little hatchlings and children about recently. Although if 'tis one of the 'hawt' men of RhyDin, I would take the time to reconsider my opinion.
Elly: Tell me something about yourself~ Like what are your hobbies~?
Eless: I tend to dabble in a few activities rather than focusing on one or two specific hobbies with which I am obsessed-- unless thou dost consider shopping a hobby. Personally I consider it therapy. Sometimes I like to wander through the woods with my lupine companion and gather herbs which I store at the Inn to make special blends for any ill or injured patrons. One of my favorite activities is tossing out the dirty barware after I work just to irk Panther.
'Twas wonderful getting to meet thee again, Elly. I am honoured, but I know that nobody in RhyDin can compare to thee!
Whoever the guy is that's caught Eless' interests? Lucky! She's so great!
