Twilight Isle A Battlefield!

By TERA STARFARE
January 28, 2007

I was sitting at my desk in The Oracle offices when to my huge surprise a goblin from Twilight Isle came running in flailing and hopping around and began to hyperventilate on me. When the little Gloop finally calmed down a bit Gloop had such a story to tell me that I almost couldn't believe it. But the goblins on the Isle see and hear everything so I know what I am about to write here is true.

Artemus the Keeper of the Tower of Earth on the Isle has been acting strangely of late and now we know why. Topaz caught him draining the dueling wards today. Rhaine showed up and that is when things really started to happen. According to Gloop a demon cat came out of nowhere to attack the two women but Topaz blasted it.

The thing possessing Art called forth this huge weapon but Topaz brought a jar of something that sparkled according to Gloop and she threw it on Art which apparently caused him a lot of pain. But it made the one possessing Art inform them that he didn't need Art's body and instead he poured from Art into a big black cloud.

Topaz and Rhaine however had things under control and before long the real Art was set free so there were two physical Arts now. Rhaine had brought the book they needed to capture the Darkness and lock it away again. It was a fierce battle with spikes shooting up out of the ground and meteors falling from the sky and scarabs scrabbling around on the ground.

Rhaine got struck by both spikes and meteors as Topaz dodged them while killing off scarabs. Then Kitty arrived on the Isle to help as they needed three to prevail against the Darkness they were facing. The Darkness called forth snow, wind, icicles which did hit Topaz but she didn't even flinch in her purpose.

Rhaine and Kitty took care of this as the book began to write itself. The Darkness then sent black golems after the trio as well as black wraiths and icy winds all three. But the women didn't relent for a moment they continued doing what they had to do to send the Darkness back into the book.

The Darkness reappeared and slammed his hand into the Isle causing a huge earthquake that practically split the Isle itself but the book continued to write itself as it was being commanded to without pause. Lightening, ice, and fire all fell from the sky but nothing worked to save Errtu from being sent back into the book by the three.

After the horrendous battle Art was found buried beneath stones. No longer possessed Rhaine and Kitty worked to Heal him after Topaz left the scene rather abruptly according to Gloop while the Isle had already begun to Heal itself of the damage done by the battle.

Making Waves
In The Harbor

By LADY WYHEREE BLACK

On the 19th of January, I spotted a strange ship anchored in the harbor down a ways from where the Sea Wolf is berthed. On first glance, she appeared to be a merchant ship, but closer inspection revealed there is more than meets the eye for the aptly named "Pride and Fury". She may not be the largest vessel on the water, but the sail she carries reveal her to be one of the fastest. The Pride and Fury is also not one to cross, considering the firepower she carries - her name appears to be well-deserved. Tales of this ship's activities, though sparse, suggest she may be another privateer, or worse, depending on who tells the tale. I personally will keep The Pride and Fury in my sights, as well as her captain. He will discover he is not the only one who sails these waters.

Caught In The Act
But Escapes

Three of RhyDin's finest were on patrol last night when they smelled something being burned then saw smoke rising nearby. Thick dark smoke so they took out their repeating crossbows and loaded them before going to where they thought they would find the source.

Upon investigation they found what appeared to be a feminine form with a length of blonde hair and glowing red eyes standing over a burning human according to the report that I read. One shot her in the head with a crossbow bolt after they yelled at her and she looked at them.

They all three claim this woman pulled that bolt right out of her head then just up and disappeared before they could run up and grab her. To top that off their report states there were no footprints at the scene they could find either. They even go so far as to claim she dematerialized right before their very eyes.

It was all very strange and so far they are still trying to identify the victim so if your loved one or friend is missing please check with the Watch.

For All Things Magical

Sentinel Private Investigation

By ERINALLE DUNBRIDGE

RhyDin is full of mysteries, dark corners and shady characters. Many try to tease out the deep dark secrets that lurk through out the realm, but few have made a living of it. Alain DMourir and Cassandra de Vernon, however, have opened shop on RhyDin's first official Private Investigators.

Sentinel Private Investigation, located in the West End, is situated in a beautiful brick building. Province Plaza, the name of the building, is also is home to some of the West End's favorite shops, such as Austen tea and Accessories. Located on the second floor, SPI, as it is called by its founders, is a charming noiresqe office filled with papers, empty coffee cups and ambiance.

In an interview I had with Mr. DMourir, he illuminated for me just what SPI hopes to do for the Rhydin community. "There are a lot of people out there with a lot of different needs… and a lot of problems that they need help solving," said DMourir. "We're here to make it easier for them." The pair insist that their service will help ease the burden on the Watch and Sisters who are too busy patrolling the streets to spend time on more private dilemmas. DMourir insists, "Our greatest skill is not our weapons proficiency; weapons are our last resort, and better as a negotiating tool than an implement of destruction. We know the streets of RhyDin well, and our experienced eyes and ears can get us to the bottom of even the deepest, toughest case."

So, if you find yourself in a jam, and need a more personal, as DMourir put it, approach to your problems, try this new service for the people of RhyDin. By hiring DMourir and de Vernon to hunt down your leads, you may just find more time for other personal matters… And cheaters beware, RhyDin is no longer safe from prying eyes.

Man Shortage Due to Overpopulation of Sirens

By JEWELL RAVENLOCK
December 8, 2006

For some time now a drought of men has been reported in the city. More and more women are without male companionship. Some have turned to the opposite sex for their sexual gratification while still others have resigned themselves to being the second and even third girlfriend of a man.

One of the sources of this epidemic has been found out! No, it's not harpies but an overpopulation of sirens. Yes, ladies, sirens have been luring all your potential beaux and knights in shining armor away from your amorous embraces.

One of these devilish women was reportedly seen at the Red Dragon Inn on a recent occasion, seducing an innocent young man with her sweet soprano.

We cannot allow this to go on less we become a society of all women (which the Sisters of Scathach may like); how would we reproduce? We all must take precautions against these wily females. Do not let your man be a victim!

One way to help yourself (and the city) is by building a "Siren Prevention" kit. Pivotal to this kit are the following:
• Ear plugs (to block up your beau's ears from their crafty singing.
• A bottle of purified Laryngitis spray (to infect them so they can no longer sing.
• Rope (to keep your man from running away with the siren).
• Gun (to shoot the siren dead if need be).

Remember, a dead or silent siren is a siren that won't be stealing your man away.

Friend, Foe, or Other

By TERA STARFARE

One of my sources at the RhyDin Watch clued me in to one the most baffling things I have heard in a while faithful readers. It seems from what they told me that in the wee hours of the night something may have escaped, in this reporter's opinion, from the Belarus Estates. I use this term because my source said they have no idea if this — whatever it is — is living, dead, friend, or foe.

One witness claims it was first seen about 4am coming from the Belarus Estates. Another though said it was spotted about the very same time near the Red Dragon Inn and two more think they have seen it. One even has placed it in the WestEnd near the crime scenes of the recent murders down there. Another near the entrance of the RhyDin Public Library and why something of this nature would want to be at the Library is truly cause for speculation.

The strange thing is all of the sightings were within the half hour of 4 to 4:30am of this same Sunday night. But they each and every one described it the very same

way as "a figure looking like a man wearing some sort of black suit or armor… no it looked like his skin!" They also claim before they could blink it faded into nothing without a sound. Not even the sound of footsteps.

If you have seen this strange massless creature walking about the city please send a message or stop by The Oracle offices and let us know so we can get the word out to other if they need to bar the doors or put out food for this bizarre figure wandering our streets.

"When you need more than skin, Hellballs Leather Goods. After all, it's your hide you are protecting."

To place your order or for more information contact Woody Sprite. You can leave a message for him at the Red Dragon Inn.
