Anubis To Be Billed For Damages!
or Firestar Challenge Anubis vs. Vinny

By TERA STARFARE
July 2, 2007

I had the pleasure of watching these here two throw down in The Outback folks in what was Anubis' 5th consecutive defense of that Opal, Firestar. Now some of you may have been keeping track and some may not but I have been, mostly because I have called several of these, but he has been waiving the grace period so he hasn't been going a full 30 days between these Challenges to boot.

Times lately have been Wyh and I was taking bets on whether or not the Egyptian was going to walk in on Monday night and call open Challenge night or not as Anubis is also well known for doing that when he is holding an Opal.

But anyway back to this here Challenge by Vincent VM Smith no less. Yes that wicked Vinny himself that was so mean to Jewell as to haul off and hit her in the face when she was doing nothing so I was told by the Empress herself!

But that has nothing to do with this Challenge that Anubis is getting billed for the damages for because he and Vinny

busted up chairs, tables, and anything else they wanted to use in this here fightin'. I was going to be kind and pay myself but I ain't gonna do it now because that there Anubis informed me I should talk better. I ain't one of his pets to tell what to do so he is getting the bill by golly! Besides The Outback certainly isn't one of those state functions I have to attend and be all proper like at. I don't care what that nasty Miss Partenger ever said to me.

I also don't care if he and Vinny did put on one heck of show in the first duel that went a whole ten rounds with the lead starting out being held by Vinny then being tied then going to Anubis then being tied and back to Anubis and being tied and into SUDDEN DEATH before Anubis finally managed to win that one.

And in the second match Vinny again took the early lead before Anubis tied it up then Vinny was leading then it was tied again before Anubis took the lead and kept on scoring to win it in 10 rounds as Vinny would only score one more time in the last round when they traded jabs which meant Anubis got to keep Firestar again.

Anyhow that bill is in the mail.

Barony of Seaside Challenge
Karen vs. Losden

By TERA STARFARE
July 3, 2007

This match was the Overlord Challenge grant for the cycle match. I’m bringing it to you straight from the corkboard as Rissa posted it folks!

Tuesday night, July 3, 2007 at the stroke of 10PM, the recipient of the overlord's grant, Losden Fagan took his challenge to the baron of Seaside, Karen Wilder. Even though it was a small crowd it was an exciting challenge.

Karen dueled under the colors of the Knights Templar, red and white with no second and in her own words, "No one's honor but her own". Fagan dueled under the banner of Nausikaa, the honor of the Hennessee Family with Adana Nausikaa in absentia as his lady of honor and no second. Karen decided on a best of three format.

Duel 1 started off with Losden getting first blood, getting around Karen's high swing. He kept his lead but using Karen's previous move against her then Karen started scoring in round 3. She tied it in the fourth round, getting around Losden's swing then pulled ahead in round five. Losden tied it by catching the stepping baroness and that was the end of his scoring. KAren scored the next two points to take the first duel, 5-3.

Duel 2 started off with Karen scoring first, moving away from Losden's parry. He tied it up up again by using her previous move against her. She pulled ahead in round 3, he tied it again in round 4 then he pulled ahead to take the lead and never gave it up to win the second duel 5-2.5.

Duel 3 began again like duel 1, Losden scoring first. KAren tied it in round three, moving away from Losden's parry. Duel thrusts then duel cuts kept it tied till round 7 when Karen caught the ducking Losden then closing it out by cutting around Losden's slash, winning duel 3 5-3.

Tower of Fire Challenge
Etherean vs. Brigath

By TERA STARFARE
June 27, 2007

This was a historic match for Twilight Isle dueling fans! Would Etherean break Brigath's successful defense of a tower record or would Brigath prevent his own record from being broken by winning this challenge? That was the question on everyone's mind I'm sure as the time drew near for this match up of two highly talented duelists.

Here is what happened in the words of the lovely Azjah herself.

It was the night of Brig's challenge to Etherean, and the beach on Twilight Isle was silent as I made my way to the chaise to wait for both men. Brigath is a former Keeper of formidable expertise and wily as they come. Etherean on the other hand is a creature of few words, and even fewer kind words, but his prowess is unrivaled by any in this realm. It would be a night of intense battle, I could feel it in the air.

Brig arrived first, and he came over to give me a hug. It was good to see him after his absence. Etherean arrived shortly thereafter, sauntering down the path from his tower. We began the affair with very little fanfare as both men stepped into the ring, observed the niceties and began their casting.

Brigath took the early lead by securing an advantageous armor against Etherean's blades, but Etherean quickly regrouped and first tied it up, and then pulled ahead and never once relinquished his lead. He secured the first match win in 9 rounds with a score of 5.5-2.5.

The second match began immediately as neither man requested a break. This time Etherean took the opening lead with a quick mage bolt that left Brig's mind

whip lost and confused. The former Keeper Brigath did not seem to recover from that bolt and Etherean pulled out to a 3-0 lead by the end of the third round.

Brig rallied a bit in the 4th round as his noxious fumes consumed Etherean's arctic winds, but then rounds 5, 6 and 7 all went to Etherean, who secured his second win in 7 rounds, defeating Brigath 5-1.

Tower of Earth Challenge!
Artemus vs Liena

By TERA STARFARE
July 22, 2007

I don't know too much about this match except from what I have read on the corkboard LiLi promised that the winner would get the cupcakes! It has been my experience with the goblins on the Isle that if cupcakes were promised or needed they would go all out to see them supplied although personally when I go over there I much prefer their ice cream. As much as I can't stand those little repulsive goblins they do make mighty fine ice cream. If you haven't tried it yet you really should if you have a moment or two to spare.

Here is what Topaz had to say about the Challenge match.

Last evening the challenger Liena and the Keeper Artemus met and dueled for the title.

Though each of the duels was long and grueling, Artemus took only two duels to defend his title, winning the first one 5-2.5 in 12 rounds and the second one 5-3.5 in 14 rounds.
