Tower of Fire Challenged!
Esperwind vs. Bran

By TERA STARFARE
August 30, 2007

A memory orb made it to my desk regarding this one folks. Bran Bale did Challenge Etherean Esperwind for the Key to the Tower of Fire on Twilight Isle and it was Officiated by Lem on this quiet evening upon the Isle in the Ring of Fire.

For the first four rounds Bran held the lead until in round five Etherean and Bran exchanged Mage Bolts to bring the score to 3.5-1 Bran. Rounds 7 and 8 saw Etherean building up some steam and score 4.5-2.5 Bran. But then in rounds 9 and 10 Bran first fouled up the ring with a nasty black foul fog then reached through an arctic blast with a fear touch to take the first duel 5-2.5 his favor.

In the second duel in the standard best of three format used on the Isle it started off with Etherean using his arctic blast but again Bran fouled up the ring with that black foul fog for the first point of the duel. They blasted back and forth at each other and came up in round five tied at 2-All! Bran's wizard blades sliced and diced Etherean who's fog didn't manage to be foul enough to keep them from him bringing the score to 3-2 in round 6. But in 7 they were tied up again as Etherean put the fear into Bran making him unable to use those mage bolts he was wanting to hurl!

In round 8 it was exciting as Bran rained meterors down on the current Keeper and the current Keeper used a mind whip on the Challenger bringing the match to SUDDEN DEATH and me with only a memory orb and not in The Outback with my lights and sirens to use folks! The horror of it all!!!

Round 9 Both whipped out the wizard blades and I missed BLOOD GUTS and GLORY!!

Round 10 Bran attempted a mind whip BUT Etherean was able to use a foul fog to gain an advantage this round, and his first lead bringing the score to 5.5-5 Etherean.

So it was on to round 11 where Bran lunged through Etherean's Immolation flames to use his 'scaly claw of doom' to tie the duel up again at 5.5-All and SUDDEN DEATH!!!

Now we are in round 12 and both duelists have fought long and hard Lem is watching closely as are Byannce and Grayson who both came to watch these mages flex their might. Bran sends out a mind whip which somehow found an opening in Etherean's armor for the final point and the win folks thus bringing to an end Etherean Esperwind's 2 year reign as Keeper of the Tower of Fire. A truly historic achievement by Etherean that shall long be remembered and always maintained in the scrolls of the Isle.

DoM Announces
New Rating For Duelers!

By TERA STARFARE
August 10, 2007

The Ring of Klytus is a magical ring that was given to the Duel of Magic by the mage Klytus. This ring besides being beautiful and precious will empower the bearer, as long as they are not already a mage, to cast as spell one rank higher than they would be able to without the ring. The Ring of Klytus will be awarded to the top rated Dueler at the end of each cycle so be sure to head over to the Isle to duel often for your chance to hold this newest offering!

Firestar Challenged!
Anubis vs. Max

By TERA STARFARE
September 3, 2007

I, that would be Lady Tera Starfare of Westridge, had the honor of officiating this here Challenge match for the Opal Firestar between Anubis and Max on Sept. 3 at 10pm. This is the sixth time that Anubis has defended his right to hold this here Opal against a Challenger and the question was would Max be the one to break this streak Anubis is on.

I was mighty surprised to see the preparations that were being made when I got to The Outback as it is known that Anubis isn't fond of STYX which is the ring that is 15 feet above the floor and is beams with supports to keep it up there with just some mats beneath it if you get knocked off it during a fight. Yes, broken bones have happened! Tonight there was a cage being built all around it, top, sides, and bottom along with the addition of barbed wire on every surface, except the floor, thanks to the Challenger, Max.

There were quite a few watching including it might be noted several of Erin's friends although Erin didn't come tonight. But this isn't about Anubis' personal life it is about dueling folks and fight did they ever!!! The first match was as close as ever anyone could have wanted with jabs traded and Max battling back from a deficit to keep in the match to the spectators delight and perhaps Anubis' consternation as this one didn't end until it had gone 10 full out BLOODY rounds with both taking a rather nasty beating from each other to end up at 5-4 Anubis.

The second duel Anubis started out with a 4-0 lead in the fifth and it sure did look like he was going to get a shut out but

in the sixth there was Max with a block to get on the board then in the seventh there was Max again with a sweep for another point bringing us to a score of 4-2 just that quick folks the tide was seeming to turn! I can tell y'all that by now they were both bleeding all over the place after multiple run ins with the barbed wire and each other. It just got downright ugly before in the ninth round Anubis blocked a kick by Max to end this duel with a score of 5-2 Anubis.

This does tie Anubis with Tarl's old record of 6 successful defenses of an Opal and has him 1 behind Mur's all time record in the Duel of Fists of 7 successful defenses of an Opal folks which is quite an accomplishment any way you punch or kick it! For those Emeralds interested Anubis has waived the grace period.

Barony of Seaside Challenged!
Karen vs. Damien Mortis

By TERA STARFARE
August 10, 2007

The piRATe himself Officiated this Challenge match between Baroness Karen and the Challenger Damien and had this to say about it all folks.

So! They let rats call challenge matches! Once you've had piRATe you can't settle for less!! ARR!!

Anyway, Karen dueled under the banner of the Knights Templar, she didn't have an honor person, and didn't have a second! We should give her some snacks to make her feel better about that.

Damien — who is way off that wagon, by the way — dueled under the CHUCK banner, and she was his lady (dead) and his second (again, dead).

Karen chose the best of three format, but Damien controlled the first two duels and that settled that!

Let me tell you that you higher ranks are too afraid to be aggressive! It's all parry this, sidestep that, swish, swoosh. I demand more blood!

OK so Damien won the first duel 5-2 in six rounds!

Then he won again 5-2 but it took him 11 rounds to do it.

MoonBeryl Challenge!
Koy vs. Bran

By TERA STARFARE
August 28, 2007

From what I have read on the corkboards in the three dueling areas Bran Bale has set himself quite a task as he is Challenging in all three sports! On the Isle he is going after the Tower of Fire and in the Arena he is attempting to gain the Barony of Old Market. But this is about his going after an Opal in The Outback folks.

He picked MoonBeryl and Koyliak to Challenge in front of a good sized crowd on a Monday evening. The results were posted by Matt but that don't mean he called this one as he does have that holographic thingy that does stuff for him and as most of you know our scoreboard is animated for when us Callers in there are busy doing other things. I do love our Outback toys!

But anyhow they squared off against each other and Bran must have been on a roll as he became the new holder of this Opal in two straight duels.
