This reporter, your voice on the street, has been out and about polling the citizenry of RhyDin about the upcoming election. Now, it hasn't been hard to get people to talk to me. But when I have, often they are slow to answer my questions.
I have tried to do a poll to see just who would win this election, as it is nearing more and more quickly... However? There is no clear front runner. Those who have decided, have not all decided the same. Perhaps there are too many choices, but it seems that right now, not one candidate is doing a good job moving the populace as a whole.
Though, one candidate has the populace talking. Anastas from SUPR has many people talking. Some people are saying that he and his party will make RhyDin as safe as can be, and that his ideas of limiting foreign trade are important to RhyDin's self sufficiency.
However, others are concerned about his promise of taxes and tariffs and have reported that they heard him speak of interning all werewolves and vampires in order to keep order. If anything the SUPR campaign has gotten RhyDin speaking on the issues, though it seems unlikely he can win with such policies towards many, many of our great citizens.
The issues that the patrons of the Red Dragon Inn and Teas'n'Tomes have related to me over my three interviews this month were varied. However, one stuck out above all else: security. The
people of the city are worried about the pests that plague our dear city. They are calling on the candidates to prove just how they are going to keep them safe from bombings, massacres and crime. However, this doesn't mean they want a police state. There is also much talk of a solid connection to the people and proper representation. People feel disconnected from the politick. They want a governor that will appeal to all and enforce the law while also fighting for human and metahuman equality.
This article is written on a set of interviews done over two weeks in December and have ten participating members. The margin of error is plus or minus one hundred percent.
Dockside Killer Behind Bars
By ADA HUCHINSON
On July 29 at 3:55 A.M., Horaetio Renne Arc'err turned himself in on the charge of murdering five confirmed people and one possible individual. The case gained some notoriety in the following events.
On September 30, one Johnathan Tapole was observed by the security camera to have broken Renne out of jail. Almost immediately after this event, a slew of spheres were reported seen rolling throughout the city. Some curious bystanders picked up the spheres and described them as follows:
"They seemed like glass balls, something like a glassworker would use for a blank on something. But they reacted, we think, to body heat and when warmed, the spheres opened up revealing a misty substance. The spheres also released a sort of songish poem."
Reports showed that the mist was harmless. The "song" reported to have been heard was described by one who heard it as "a plea of some kind, like something a child might say when lost".
On October 18, Renne was sighted to have come back to Port South of his own free will. He returned without trouble and remained within his prison cell from that point on.
Since then, it was speculated that his trial might not ever take place by that point, a possible two rounds of psychiatric and legal personnel had attempted the case and vanished, presumably due to Nexus-related events. Renne was examined by a further two individuals and on November 18, his trial went forward.
The trial ended on November 26 with a verdict of "Guilty by Insanity". The delivered sentence was read as six months imprisonment with the first thirty days in solitary isolation and continued psychiatric therapy. For that time, the only permitted visitor was his psychiatric physician.
At the conclusion of the trial, Renne is reported to have voluntarily approached the judge's bench and said a number of things.
"He spoke to me of a voice in his head that frightens him," said Judge Paulson. Further, he noted:
"He asked what insanity meant and if the voice in his head was a sign of the insanity. He further asked, what is done to remove it."
Currently, Renne serves his sentence at Port South Holding House and is undergoing psychiatric therapy. Progress reports will be relayed as they are found out.
Foiled Attempted Bombings
By JOHN Q. PRESS
At nine o'clock on Friday 28 December, a bombing was attempted and foiled at the Red Dragon Inn.
Men pretending to be judges for the I.P.A., or Interdimensional Pub Awards, rolled three kegs filled with gunpowder into the Red Dragon Inn. They were pointed out as "bombers" by Raven DeNamar, and she, Governor Kitty Helston, Lana, and Rena Cronin attacked and dispatched all four would-be bombers.
The four men are confirmed to have been affiliated with the previous Marketplace bombings in November.
An explosion was seen and heard on the water close to the West End that evening. No one has confirmed whether the incident is related.

Orks Spotted
Gavilean Starfare
Orcs (aka Orks) have recently been seen at our local fast food establishments. Managers reported, "They eat plenty but their smell drives away our other customers. We're considering a special Orc Drive-up Window to handle their patronage."
