Festival Ball on the Final Night!

[snip][/color:c05bb0802c][/size:c05bb0802c]

For the final night of the Harvest Festival, the celebrations have been moved indoors, to the Red Dragon Great Hall. While vendors continue to hawk their wares in the city, the focal point of the evening is the Harvest Ball. Musicians are tuning their instruments and setting their playlists for the dancing, while those busy volunteers finish decorating the Hall.

Servers dressed in their best are getting ready for the rush, while the bar along the back wall has been fully stocked. Small tables around the edges of the room are arrayed with samples of seasonal delicacies, and the drifts of origami leaves have somehow found their way from the Inn to the Hall.

Everybody's ready for the party!

Third Night of Harvest Festival!

[snip][/size:0013b7bda4][/b:0013b7bda4]

The remnants of the previous night's luau have been cleared away, and where the roasting pit had been is now a large bonfire set up and ready to be lit. Stacked nearby are cords of wood to keep it going throughout the night.

On a barge set up in the center of the lake, dwarven craftsmen can be seen setting up for a spectacular fireworks display.

Volunteers are bringing in large wooden tubs and bales of apples for the apple-bobbing, while a few farmers from the outskirts of the city have their most patient teams of horses hitched up to wagons for the hayrides. The more enterprising of those farmers brought their entries for the largest pumpkin contest in on the same wagons.

The third night of Harvest Festival is about to get underway!

The Second Night of Harvest Festival (Sept. 26. 2008)

[snip]

The shadowy Glen is darkening to deep velvet night, adorned with torches burning gold at the tree line edge.

Firelight glows from the deep pit of coals where the aroma of slowly roasted pig wafts to tempt appetites. A tablecloth of palm leaves stretches across the area, filled with tropical harvest bonanza. Pineapples, guava, small bowls of poi sit tempting one to come feast.

Sit, recline on the grassy carpet and partake of the feast. No table ware, no dishes. Cut off some of the cooked pork and use your hands; casual and comfortable tonight. Flower leis for everyone. All drinks come in hollowed out pineapples. Hula lessons are optional. ;-)

Bring your best baked goods for the contest. Looks and taste count.

And it that ain't enough, full of food and drink...let's see how you can toss a hay bale! Que forms when it is announced.

Now that there is a bale of fun to pack into one evening! Come on to the Glen and celebrate wif us![snip]
